Baby And A Bible: Columbus, OH Baby Photographer

We had yet another very successful baby photo shoot with baby Alynn!  Baby Alynn is so photogenic!  We have photographed her as a newborn, and at a few months old around Christmas time.  Each and every time the photos come out amazing!

This time the theme was wrapped around a special family bible.  I really like the white dress and white background combination.  It makes the photos look so angelic!

Baby Alynn has gorgeous big eyes that just pop in every photo!

We are looking forward to your next photo shoot Miss Alynn!  :)

Baby Alynn, Christmas Photos: Columbus Ohio Child Photographer

We have been so privileges to see this baby girl grow up.  We did the maternity photos, her newborn photos, and now photos of her two months old getting ready to celebrate her first Christmas!

It was a gorgeous November day! One not usually seen here in Columbus Ohio….it was almost 75 degrees outside.  So we headed off to this little spot they had picked out to do some outdoor photos.  We took a few photos, but it was a bit too windy for baby Alynn, so we headed back to their house.

Once at their home we took some family photos of the three of them with Alynn in her Santa Baby outfit.  Isn’t she just adorable?

Then Alynn’s Mom told me that she had an over sized Santa hat, and that she wanted photos of Alynn every year until she is 18 wearing this hat.  What a cool idea!

Alynn turned on her charm and really cheesed it up for the camera in her solo photos.  I love some of the comments on Facebook about how they should find her an agent…STAT!  :)

Thank you again Parks family for the opportunity to photograph your family!  We wish you a Merry Christmas!!!

What a happy family!

Shannon and Hattie: Columbus Ohio Family Photographer

Shannon is a friend from high school and when they heard that we were doing Bill and Jenn’s Family Portraits, they asked if we could do theirs too!  Of course!  The more the merrier! :)

Shannon was a few years ahead of me in school but we ended up being in some of the same classes. I remember him well from gym class. He made it fun! Anyone who knows Shannon knows exactly what I am talking about. :) Whenever Shannon is around you are going to have a good time, as we did on this day.  I have a whole folder of bloopers from this shoot.  :)

The fall colors and location were amazing! I would love to live at this old campground and fish in the lake every day!

The kids were all excited about getting their photos taken and it really shows in the photos!

It was towards evening when we started and was nearly dark when we finished. We used every last bit of light and pushed my camera as far as it would go for low light conditions to get all of these family portraits. I am glad we stuck with it because the photos turned out great!

Thanks again Shannon an Hattie for allowing us to photograph your family!

Bill, Jenn, and Family: Columbus, Ohio Family Photographer

Bill and Jenn were friends from high school and they saw some of our work on our Facebook Page.  She messaged me to do some family portraits and so we decided to meet one weekend at the lake by her grandparents house…and what an awesome location this was!

We turned down a side road, which then turned into a dirt road, which dead ended into a small cluster of homes backed up to a small lake.  So remote that all the houses had the same address!!  I guess the mail man just knows who lives where??  :)  My kinda place!

I think we missed the brightest of the fall colors by about a week, but there were still plenty of colorful leaves which made for a great background for the family portraits!

Many of the family portraits were also taken in front of this old red shed, which they had been planning on tearing down for years.  So glad they waited!  :)  The old tattered paint and rickety windows and door add so much character to the photos.

We had a good time talking about old times, old friends, and of course, taking their family portraits!

It was good to see you again Bill and Jenn!

This little guy loved the camera! It was funny to see him turn on and off his smile when the camera was pointed his direction! :)

Baby Colton and Family – Columbus Family Photography

I recently did another family photography and  newborn photography session and they referred Baby Colton’s family to us.  We are always excited to hear that we have been recommended by someone. To us that is the best compliment someone can get!  Word of mouth is far more powerful than any paid advertisement.  :)

I had been talking to Baby Colton’s mother via text and email for a few weeks ironing out all the details.  We arrived at their home, setup shop, and started shooting their family photos.  They pretty much let us do what we do.  They did have a few requests of certain photos to be taken, and I always welcome that, but knowing our clients trust us to do our job and then they just go with the flow makes the whole process that much more fun and exciting!

All of these pictures were taken in their home.  We utilized different rooms of their home and some simple backdrops to mix things up a bit as well as our portable lighting that we bring on site when we do indoor shoots.  The added studio lights give the photos an added pop that you just can not usually get inside due to low lighting conditions.

Reardon Family: A Columbus, OH Family Photo Session at Homestead Park

We have known the Reardon Family for many years and were honored when they asked us to do their family portraits!  We went to Homestead Park  near Hilliard, OH to do their family pictures.  It was a very busy place!

Every one of the shelter houses were packed, the playground was overflowing with children, and an empty parking spot was something to be desired.  :)  Could be because it was supposed to be one of the nice last days of fall and everyone was trying to squeeze in one last day at the park for the year!  However, even with all of the crowding, we managed to find some remote locations to keep all of the other people out of the background.  :)

Photographing kids is so fun and yet so unpredictable!  :)  The kids were not OK with sitting down and holding still for photos, so we adapted!  We let the kids be themselves…playing and running around.  We were able to capture some really good candid shots of the kids, which really shows their actual personality.

Thank you Reardon family for allowing us to capture this moment in your family’s life!  I hope you like the family portraits as much as we do!

Campbell Family Portraits – Columbus, OH Family Photographer

The Campbell family lived two houses down from me when I was growing up, and so we were honored to do their family portraits!  I spent a lot of time in their backyard playing Wiffle Ball!  :)   Alan was my baseball coach for many years and Phyllis baby sat my brother and I for quite a while too!  It was nice to see them again after so many years!

We decided to meet in the middle since we live about an hour apart.  Our destination was Allen Center Park in Marysville, OH.  All in all we had a great time catching up on the past and capturing some memories for their family to remember forever!

A photo of the whole Campbell family!

Large family photos take some time to get right, especially when children are involved. It is nearly impossible to get everyone looking in the right direction and smiling.  So lots of patience and persistence are key in a good photographer.  :)

Newborn Baby Alynn – Columbus, OH Newborn Baby Photographer

We photographed Newborn Baby Alynn’s parents about a month prior to this shoot in a maternity shoot.  So, we were excited to get the phone call saying that baby Alynn had been born!  Newborn Baby Alynn was 4 days old when we did this shoot.  We have not photographed many baby girls up to this point so we were thrilled to see the bows and butterfly wings that Newborn Baby Alynn’s parents had picked out.  :)

We did these photos in their home.  Especially with newborns we feel it best to do the photos in their own home.  This just makes things more comfortable for Mom, Dad, and especially Baby.  Many times babies need more time to eat, have diapers changed, cuddle with Mom, whatever it may be.   We always book extra time for newborn photo sessions (at no extra charge) to be able to comfortably handle these kinds of things.  :)

In the end, we took our time, and the photos came out great!

How sweet and inncocent!

What a sweet and innocent newborn baby girl….4 days old!!

Columbus, Ohio Maternity Photography: Tiffany and Alan

Tiffany and Alan were soooo photogenic!  This maternity session was a breeze!  We arrived at their home and setup our lighting in their bedroom and started shooting.   The say the expecting mothers have a certain glow, and obviously Tiffany was glowing this day!

Maternity sessions are so much fun because they are usually done close to the end of the pregnancy and everyone is getting excited and anxious for baby to arrive.

The photos quickly filled up my memory card and I had a hard time narrowing down the keepers.  :)    Keep your eyes open for their Newborn Baby Photos coming soon!

(Update: Baby Alynn is here!  Check out her Newborn Photos!)
