Borden Family – Columbus, OH Family Portraits

The Borden family agreed to do photos at the Jeffrey Mansion in Bexely.  I had been trying to do a photo shoot here for a while, but no one would agree to go there for some reason.  This place was awesome!!  We will definitely be returning in the future.

Thank you Borden family for allowing me the privilege of taking your photos, as well as agreeing to go to the Jefferey Mansion!

Haydn – Two years Old – Columbus, OH Child Portraits

Haydn was a fun little guy with a great smile!  Just look at the photo of him running in front of the statue!  And did I mention tough?  While it looks nice in the photos, it was COLD!  His little fingers were so red by the end of the shoot, I am not sure how he continued to smile!

Campbell Family – Columbus, OH Family Photographer

We have taken the Campbell Family’s photos before, but this time they returned the favor!  Lacey knows her way around a camera too and took my family’s photos.  A task easier said than done!  My kids just will not sit still or all three look forward at the same time… unlike the Campbell kids who always look forward, smile, and don’t blink.  🙂

It is just amazing how much children grow up in only one year!  We took Miss Hattie’s photos on her 1st Birthday, and now gain on her 2nd Birthday!  Look how much this child has grown up!

Shannon and Hattie: Columbus Ohio Family Photographer

Shannon is a friend from high school and when they heard that we were doing Bill and Jenn’s Family Portraits, they asked if we could do theirs too!  Of course!  The more the merrier! 🙂

Shannon was a few years ahead of me in school but we ended up being in some of the same classes. I remember him well from gym class. He made it fun! Anyone who knows Shannon knows exactly what I am talking about. 🙂 Whenever Shannon is around you are going to have a good time, as we did on this day.  I have a whole folder of bloopers from this shoot.  🙂

The fall colors and location were amazing! I would love to live at this old campground and fish in the lake every day!

The kids were all excited about getting their photos taken and it really shows in the photos!

It was towards evening when we started and was nearly dark when we finished. We used every last bit of light and pushed my camera as far as it would go for low light conditions to get all of these family portraits. I am glad we stuck with it because the photos turned out great!

Thanks again Shannon an Hattie for allowing us to photograph your family!

Bill, Jenn, and Family: Columbus, Ohio Family Photographer

Bill and Jenn were friends from high school and they saw some of our work on our Facebook Page.  She messaged me to do some family portraits and so we decided to meet one weekend at the lake by her grandparents house…and what an awesome location this was!

We turned down a side road, which then turned into a dirt road, which dead ended into a small cluster of homes backed up to a small lake.  So remote that all the houses had the same address!!  I guess the mail man just knows who lives where??  🙂  My kinda place!

I think we missed the brightest of the fall colors by about a week, but there were still plenty of colorful leaves which made for a great background for the family portraits!

Many of the family portraits were also taken in front of this old red shed, which they had been planning on tearing down for years.  So glad they waited!  🙂  The old tattered paint and rickety windows and door add so much character to the photos.

We had a good time talking about old times, old friends, and of course, taking their family portraits!

It was good to see you again Bill and Jenn!

Fall Outdoor Child

This little guy loved the camera! It was funny to see him turn on and off his smile when the camera was pointed his direction! 🙂

Baby Colton and Family – Columbus Family Photography

I recently did another family photography and  newborn photography session and they referred Baby Colton’s family to us.  We are always excited to hear that we have been recommended by someone. To us that is the best compliment someone can get!  Word of mouth is far more powerful than any paid advertisement.  🙂

I had been talking to Baby Colton’s mother via text and email for a few weeks ironing out all the details.  We arrived at their home, setup shop, and started shooting their family photos.  They pretty much let us do what we do.  They did have a few requests of certain photos to be taken, and I always welcome that, but knowing our clients trust us to do our job and then they just go with the flow makes the whole process that much more fun and exciting!

All of these pictures were taken in their home.  We utilized different rooms of their home and some simple backdrops to mix things up a bit as well as our portable lighting that we bring on site when we do indoor shoots.  The added studio lights give the photos an added pop that you just can not usually get inside due to low lighting conditions.

Reardon Family: A Columbus, OH Family Photo Session at Homestead Park

We have known the Reardon Family for many years and were honored when they asked us to do their family portraits!  We went to Homestead Park  near Hilliard, OH to do their family pictures.  It was a very busy place!

Every one of the shelter houses were packed, the playground was overflowing with children, and an empty parking spot was something to be desired.  🙂  Could be because it was supposed to be one of the nice last days of fall and everyone was trying to squeeze in one last day at the park for the year!  However, even with all of the crowding, we managed to find some remote locations to keep all of the other people out of the background.  🙂

Photographing kids is so fun and yet so unpredictable!  🙂  The kids were not OK with sitting down and holding still for photos, so we adapted!  We let the kids be themselves…playing and running around.  We were able to capture some really good candid shots of the kids, which really shows their actual personality.

Thank you Reardon family for allowing us to capture this moment in your family’s life!  I hope you like the family portraits as much as we do!
